Rhythms to inspire social change
Recognising the transformative power of just one day, Good Vibes Day invites young people to lose themselves in the music with Femi Koleoso, best known as drummer of the Grammy award winning Gorillaz, and drummer and frontman of Mercury prize winning jazz group, Ezra Collective.
Free to attend, KOKO’s iconic theatre set the scene for a one day workshop encompassing drum tuition, networking, industry advice and a jam session for kids and music students.
Sharing our belief in the transformative impact music can make on young lives, Femi Koleoso is a vocal advocate and takes direct action to create opportunities and hope for the next generation.
“I’ll bang this drum a bunch of times and I’ll continue to do so until the entire country gets it. So many of the problems that face greater society in the UK we’re unsure of how to fix, but the solution lies with giving a young person a trumpet; the solution lies in giving a young person a saxophone. Because when you do that, you give them a dream, an aspiration and a goal.”
