What we got up to
In 2019, Camden Council declared a climate emergency and convened a participatory citizens assembly to discuss how we move forward to address ecological and climate crises.
Committed to working with our local community to combat climate change and create greener environments for everyone, the KOKO Foundation has worked in close collaboration with Camden County Council and local grassroots organisation, Think & Do. Together, we’ve been able to plant fruit trees in 26 schools, given over 2000 tree whips through 25 community events and rewilded Kentish Town Fire station. Our efforts have contributed to an estimated 40% of newly planted trees in Camden, not including replacement trees!
Greener environments not only encourage biodiversity and combat the effects of climate change, but they have positive implications for health and wellbeing. We’re committed to implementing long term, sustainable green solutions in our local borough of Camden; explore our Communi-Trees and Beeline Box projects for more details.
